    In order that this fastener functions properly it is essential that the fastener is harder than the stainless steel sheet therefore the following precautions should be adhered to:-
    • Do not exceed the maximum sheet hardness of 92 HRB.
    • Keep hole punch tooling as sharp as possible to minimise work hardening around the hole.
    • Avoid installing the fastener in or near cold worked areas where the local sheet hardness may exceed 92HRB.
    • The fastener should be installed in the punch side of the hole.

PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS

  • Performance Data
    The performance data listed relates only to the holding power of the stud to the sheet into which it is installed they do no relate to the axial strength of the threads, allowable tightening torque or design loading of an assembly. The values represented here are the anticipated destructive averages when the proper installation procedures and specifications have been applied.

    Push Out Load
    This represents the resistance of the clinch stud to an axial load applied to the fastener forcing the stud from the sheet into which it had been installed.

    Torque Out
    This represents the resistance of the clinch stud to turning within the sheet into which it has been installed.

    Torque Through
    This represents the resistance of the stud to an axial load applied against the head tending to pull the clinch stud through the sheet into which it has been installed.
