Self clinching studs come in two basic types Flush Head where the embedded head is flush with the face of the material and Non Flush Head where a larger non flush fitting head is used. The latter is used in high strength applications which require improved pull through resistance. e.g. if used in substitution for a weld bolt.

Materials & Finishes
The standard studs are manufactured from heat treated carbon steel and are supplied with a bright zinc and clear passivated finish. A chromate passivated finish can also be supplied please check for availability. 

Studs manufactured using 300 Series Stainless Steel are supplied for use in Aluminium Sheets and are supplied in the self colour finish. 

Studs for use in Stainless Steel Sheets
Where studs are required for installation into stainless steel sheets of 92 HRB or less then our 400 Series Stainless Steel Studs should be used, these studs have been specially hardened and are supplied self colour and passivated to ASTM A380 condition. Corrosion resistance of these studs is equivalent to zinc plated steel.

Applications
Self clinching studs are easily assembled with any squeeze press and can be used as a suitable alternative to replace capacitor discharge studs and weld bolts at lower installation costs..
